Pre-Departure Briefing is the final thing to reach student’s destination and origin and one of the most important stages of the overseas education journey. we prepare our student what to expect when they arrive in the selected destination / country – both academically and personally. A well-structured session will be provided to our students to reduce anxiety and sets them up for a smoother transition.

1. Travel Preparation

  • Documents to carry:
    • Passport with visa
    • Flight tickets
    • University offer letter / Confirmation of Enrolment Letter  / I-20 / CAS
    • Fee payment receipt
    • Academic documents (originals & print copies)
    • Vaccination records (if required)
  • Packing tips:
    • Weather-appropriate clothing
    • Adapters, medicines, toiletries
    • Currency (small denominations), forex cards
    • Avoiding prohibited items

2. Airport & Immigration Guidance

  • Check-in process and luggage rules
  • Immigration interview basics:
    • Knowing student how to show documents when asked
    • Know their university name, course, and duration and street name when the immigration officials asked for.
  • What to do in case of flight delay/missed connection

3. Post-Arrival Process

  • Customs declaration
  • Local SIM card setup
  • Opening a bank account
  • Registering with local authorities (if required, e.g., police registration in the UK)

4. Accommodation & Transport

  • Temporary vs permanent housing
  • Local transportation options (buses, metro, student passes)
  • How to travel from the airport to your accommodation

5. Cultural Adjustment

  • Local etiquette, language basics, and customs
  • Homesickness: how to manage it
  • Respect for diversity and local laws

6. Academic Orientation

  • How classes are conducted (lecture vs seminar)
  • Importance of attendance and academic honesty
  • Using university resources: library, career center, student support

7. Part-Time Work Guidance

  • Legal working hours (e.g., 20 hrs/week in most countries)
  • Finding campus/off-campus jobs
  • Avoiding job scams

8. Emergency Information

  • Local emergency numbers
  • Indian embassy/consulate contacts
  • Health insurance details and hospital access

9. Final Checklist for Students & Arranging Free Airport Pick up to the students.

  • All original documents safely stored
  • Health and travel insurance activated
  • Apps to install: Google Maps, local transport, banking, food delivery, uber app installation to reach student accommodations.
  • Emergency contacts shared with family
  • Arranging Free Airport Pick up by College / University Bus.
