The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is a standardized exam primarily used for admissions to MBA (Master of Business Administration) and other business-related graduate programs worldwide.

Key Details:

  • Who Should Take It:
    Aspiring MBA, business, or management students—especially those applying to top business schools in the US, Europe, Canada, India, etc.

  • Test Structure (GMAT Focus Edition – 2024 onwards):

    1. Quantitative Reasoning – math and data interpretation skills.

    2. Verbal Reasoning – reading comprehension, critical reasoning, grammar.

    3. Data Insights – includes data analysis, charts, tables, and multi-source reasoning (replacing older Integrated Reasoning).

  • Scoring:

    • Total score: 205 to 805

    • Each section has individual scores as well.

    • No longer includes Analytical Writing.

  • Duration:
    ~2 hours and 15 minutes

  • Test Format:

    • Fully computer-based (center or online at home).

    • Adaptive by section.

  • Score Validity:
    5 years

  • Fees:
    Around $275 USD, depending on location.
